Our work at Passerelles numeriques Cambodia is to provide quality education, including technical and soft-skills training, as a gateway for life to escape poverty. Alumni have taken advantage of their time with us to build successful careers as entrepreneurs or pursue higher education, and at the same time give back to the community.
From disadvantaged background to successful entrepreneur
Taking part in the PN Cambodia program, not only gave our beneficiaries a chance to get a good job, it also inspired them to think bigger and acquire an entrepreneurial spirit!
Mr. Vannakpanha MAO is a Class 2014 alumnus who specialized in Web Programming. Thanks to his excellent results at PNC, Codingate Technology recruited him immediately after his graduation. He worked there for two years before joining the Canadia Bank for a further two years. In 2018, he was ready to start his own company which is called “Focuz Solution” providing services such as website design and development, design and branding, mobile app development, booking solutions and E-learning solutions.

Thanks to PNC, Panha is not the only alumnus who has started his own business, others have also seized the opportunity to launch their own company:

A springboard towards higher education
Being at PN gave our students the possibility to pursue higher education in Cambodia, as well as abroad, to bring added value to their career paths.
Ms. Channary THAT graduated from PNC in 2009 in System and Network Administration. As part of the career guidance program, PNC supported her to get her first job at NEOCOM ISP. In 2010, she left to work with Beeline (Now part of Smart Axiata) for 3 years. While working, she had the opportunity to continue her Bachelor’s degree in Cambodia and her Master’s in Computer Science in Thailand. Through various job exposures and experience in the private sector, she is currently a Government official in the IT Department at the General Department of Taxation. “PNC gave me the foundation to build my career today! With what I learned at PNC, I am now able to pass job interviews and obtain a scholarship for a Master’s.” Nary said.
Thanks to PNC, Channary is not the only alumna to pursue their studies, others have also seized the opportunity.
Mr. Serey VICHHAIY, a Class 2012 alumnus took a Master’s in Computer Science from Mahidol University. He is now working there as Technical Support Officer.
Ms. ChhingChhing HEM, a Class 2012 alumna. She studied in New Zealand for three months as part of a Coding Bootcamp on Ruby Language from the Dev Academy. She is now working as a Business Analyst for the Advanced Bank of Asia Limited (ABA).
An opportunity to support the community
In addition, it is very inspiring to see that thanks to their careers, our alumni are also taking the time to contribute to the community.
Ms. Sokea CHEM graduated from PNC in 2013 in Web Programming. She then started her career as an IT trainer with the Go Ahead organization in Kompong Thom province and now works there to provide basic IT training such as Typing, Microsoft Word and Excel to 840 students. “PNC gave me more than just technical skills.” Sokea believes that IT skills are in great market demand and she wants to contribute these skills by educating young Cambodian students. She is planning to start her own IT school, so that rural young people can easily access IT training programs in their community.
Sokea said: “My dream would be to have the wonderful opportunity of educating as many poor rural young people as possible”
Thanks to PNC, Sokea is not the only person supporting the education of Cambodian young people, others are also deeply involved in their communities:
Ms. Naihon KHOUNN, a Class 2019 alumna, is working for our non-governmental partner organization, Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) as an IT technician.
Mr. Rady Y, a Class 2016 alumnus is one of our WEP trainers at Passerelles numériques Cambodia.
Since 2005, 1,485 students have successfully completed the Passerelles numériques Cambodia two-year training program in IT. In 2019, 100% of them were employed one month ahead of their official graduation, with an average salary of 273 USD a month. This salary enables our alumni to give back to their families and communities (an average of 31%).
