The project in the Philippines has now been launched !
One of the key stages of the mission in the Philippines, recruiting students, has ended after two months of work. Thanks to our local partners more than 380 candidates applied from 3 islands of the Visayas, in the Central Philippines. The complete selection process of Passerelles Numeriques (written tests, interviews, visits to families) allowed us to identify 25 underprivileged students who will benefit from our training. This student body brings together students from 3 islands and a wide variety of backgrounds. ![]()
The family visits were very moving and enabled us to realize the necessity of the financial aide. ost families earn no more than 50 € per month which has to feed an entire family, often with 4 or more children. It is understandably impossible for these families to finance a university education that costs more than 500 € per semester.
We have welcomed all the students on the 15th of June in Cebu with an orientation week. They will study at the prestigious San Carlos University as part of a 3-year IT Technician training program. All our local partners will participate in the curriculum, and the San Carlos University and Accenture Cebu are working with us to offer the students a complete training that is adapted to local needs. At the same time, we have built the center where the students live. Marc Stéfani, Philippines Project Manager
